Cheatham
MyAsha
Cheatham the second child of four born to Andrew and Karen
Cheatham was born at Columbia Hospital For Women in
Washington, DC on September 7, 1986. She attended Our
Lady Queen of Peace Elementary School, Melwood Elementary
School, James Madison Middle School and is presently a junior
at Frederick Douglas High School located in Upper Marlboro,
MD. While attending James Madison Middle School, she was
involved with the Peer Mediator program, played the clarinet
in the band and assisted a handicapped student to her classes
and participated in extra-curricular activities on a daily
basis. Her activities at Frederick Douglas High School
include Peer Mediation, Student Government and Step Team.
She has attended Asbury United Methodist Church since birth
and is involved in the Youth ministry, Sunday school, Usher
Board and Liturgist programs.
MyAsha
has been a Girl Scout since first grade and is involved with
numerous projects such volunteering for the Race for the Cure
for Breast Cancer, Goddard Space Center, New Hope Housing,
Angel Tree projects, Cheltenham Cemetery, Spring and Fall
Association meeting for the Girl Scouts, Wider Ops and Senior
Retreat Committee to name a few. She received the Silver
Award, which is the second highest award in Girl Scouts. She
is currently working on the Gold Award, the highest award in
Girl Scouts and the Silver Trefoil, which requires 100 hours
of volunteer service.
She
plans to graduate in June 2004 and then attend Howard
University. Her goal is to become a lawyer/judge.
Jordan
Simone Dent, FBCHP/Girl
Scouts Troop 3255
Jordan Simone Dent is a 14-year old sophomore in the
Suitland High School University High School program. She
is a member of First Baptist Church of Highland Park.
She attends Sunday school and the Jesus and Me teen Bible
study. She’s a senior in Girl Scout Troop 3255. Of her
many Girl Scout awards, she has received her Christian
Service, Leadership Pin, and her Silver Award. Jordan
has two older sisters and a nephew. She likes roller
skating, dancing, playing on the computer, talking on the
phone, and Disney movies. When she graduates from high
in 2005, she plans to go to college and graduate with a law
degree.

Kenneth
Howell, Jr.,
First Baptist Church of Highland Park
Kenneth Howell, Jr. was born May 27, 1985. He has
been a member of First Baptist Church of Highland Park since,
in his own words, “I was a baby.” He is a 17
years-old high school senior. All through school Kenneth
have been good in math and is his favorite subject.
After high school he plans to go to college and major in
Chemistry that will lead him to medical school and
becoming a pediatrician. Presently, Kenneth attends St.
Johns CHS in NW Washington. He is a member of the
FBCHP’s Gospel Drama Ministry and volunteers in the church
nursery. He like girls, videogames, socializing
with friends, football, basketball, and baseball.
Courtney
Nicole Ashley Rucker
Courtney
Nicole Ashley Rucker was born on October 21, 1988 at George
Washington Hospital. She resides with her parents Juanita and
Dave Rucker and her older brother in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
Courtney has attended Clinton Christian School in Upper
Marlboro, MD since she was 2 ½ years old. While at
Clinton Christian School she won 1st, 2nd
and 3rd place awards in History, Science, Choir and
orchestra at the school, regional and state levels in fine
arts for Christian Schools. She was in the choir from 1st
to the 8th grade, play the viola in the orchestra
and play the piano. She is currently President of her ninth
grade class and has been on the girl’s varsity basketball
team since sixth grade. She currently volunteers in the after
school program when not at basketball practice. Courtney is a
member of Galilee Baptist Church where she attended the AWANA
Program from second to six grade and is currently involved in
the teen ministry program at Bible Baptist Church/Clinton
Christian School and Vacation Bible School. She has attended
the Christian Dance Academy in Clinton, MD for five years and
performed in several Christian Plays, volunteer as a dance
teacher aide and helps with the costumes.
Courtney
has been a girl scout since first grade and have been involved
in numerous projects, such as conducting workshops in science,
fitness, looking your best, healthy bones, storytelling, games
etc. for younger girls. She received the Silver Award,
which is the second highest award in girl scouts and is
currently working toward the Gold Award, the highest award in
girl scouts and the Silver Trefoil, which is 100 hours of
volunteer service. Her other volunteer activities
include Martha’s Table, Prince George’s County Fair,
community Days at Goddard Space Center, Race for the Cure, New
Hope Housing, Angel Tree projects, Spring, Fall and Annual
Association meetings, Wider Ops and Program Aide Committees,
just to name a few. Courtney plans to attend college after
graduation. Her hobbies are playing video games, basketball,
scrap booking and hanging out with friends.

S. Seltzer
Julian
Seltzer attends fifth grade at Thomas G. Pullen Arts Magnet
School, Landover, Maryland. Currently he plays the Alto
Saxophone and has studied the violin, cello and piano.
Julian
is a member of First Baptist Church of Highland Park (FBCHP),
sings in the Sun Beam Youth Choir and, participates in the
AWANA (Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed) Ministry, on Friday
nights at FBCHP.
Nine-year
old Julian attends the Saturday Academy at the University of
the District of Columbia for Mathematics, Electrical
Engineering and Computer Science. His hobbies include
constructing & building models with K’Nex and traveling.
He is a member of the First Federal Credit Union Youth Board
of Directors representing ages 7-9 years and was elected Youth
Assistant Treasurer for FCCFCU.
Joseph
Alexander Charles Smith, III
Joseph
Alexander Charles Smith, III is the son of Joseph, Jr. and
Rosalyn Smith born September 16, 1986. He began his
education at Dodge Park Elementary where he was placed in the
Talented and Gifted Program. He continued at New
Carrollton Elementary and Heather Hills Elementary. He
experienced home schooling in 1997-1998. After home
schooling, he attended Charles Carroll Middle, then Fairmont
Heights High School where he is a junior. Since in high
school, he has been inducted into the National Honor Society
and Who's Who Among High School Students. He is also a
member of The Mock Trial Team and Student Government
Association. His hobbies include amusement parks/roller
coasters and computers.
Joseph
accepted Christ at the age of 8 and is an active member of the
First Baptist Church of Glenarden (FBCG). At the age of
5, he began singing in the Sunbeams Choir. Since then he
has been on the Junior Usher Board, Share Ministry, and Feed
the Hungry. He is now a member of the Intermediate Usher
Board and has held several positions. He is a member of
the Hospitality Ministry, receiving an Outstanding Service
Award at the 10th Anniversary of the ministry in October 2000.
He is a participant in the Project Manhood/Mentoring program,
the Youth Leadership Development Institute, and he plays the
clarinet in the FBCG Orchestra. Joseph was introduced to
scouting in 1994 at FBCG joining Cub Scout Troop 1657.
He moved on to Boy Scout Troop 1657, where he continues to
remain active. The experiences he has obtained have been
rewarding. Joseph continues to assist his fellow scouts,
in-group settings as well as individually, in accomplishing
their goal.
After
high school, Joseph plans to attend an Ivy League University
and major in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Computer
Science.
